The Opportunity

As a Corporate Accountant, the primary responsibilities will be in relation to financial reporting, including billings management, maintenance of accounting general ledgers, and internal and external reporting as required. Secondary responsibilities include GST filings, annual tax filings, and other tax compliance-related reporting. Successful candidates must have excellent communication skills, experience with working in a collaborative environment, acute attention to detail, and strong organization and computer skills.

The Corporate Accountant reports directly to one of the Accounting Managers in our Corporate Accounting group.


Corporate Accounting

  • Prepare various monthly invoices and billings, as necessary
  • Maintain the general ledgers of the corporate entities and the various working papers
  • Preparing annual year-end files
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets

Financial Reporting

  • Preparing monthly financial statements for various entities
  • Preparing various monthly/quarterly electronic reporting requirements, as required
  • Maintenance of accounting general ledgers as well as various subledgers and schedules, as required
  • Assist the Manager in coordinating with external accountants in assisting with Review and Audit engagements

Tax Reporting

  • Prepare various GST filings for various entities
  • Prepare annual tax filings for various entities including T2, T3, and T5013
  • Coordinate with CRA and other tax compliance bodies, as required


  • Provide administrative and other assistance to other senior members of the Accounting and Finance team as required

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of or working towards an accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) is strongly preferred.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates that bring experience in lieu of educational designations.
  • 2 years’ experience relating to financial accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience in Sage 300 and Timberscan is an asset.
